Title IX has gaps in how to handle campus sex assault cases

Many groups, including some states’ attorneys general, are angrily imploring U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos not to alter the Title IX sexual assault directive issued in President Obama’s administration. But in the interest of treating both women and men fairly, the directive needs to be revised. College campuses often do not handle adjudication well. The college where I am a trustee is just a community college, but scores of elite universities could learn from us the fair way to adjudicate sexual assault cases.  CONTINUE READING HERE
